How to prepare for UPSC Prelims

A prelim is the first stage of the IAS exams. It is also known as CSAT. These are held in June / August. Question paper’s booklet is both in English and Hindi languages.

•    paper (1) is related to General Study
•    paper (2) is related to an Aptitude Test.

Direction
•    Paper (1) is base for the Main exam
•    Paper (2) is only the analyzing test of the student.

How to prepare for prelims?
For the preparation for the first paper, the students should have a full grip over the topics mentioned below:
•    Students should have a full command on current affairs
•    Students must know the history of India and Indians national moment
•    Students must have knowledge about India and world geography
•    Students must have knowledge about Indian political system and government.
•    The student must know about the national and international economic and social dynamics
•    It is vital to have a detailed environmental and social development knowledge
•    Knowledge about General science and the Latest advancements is necessary.
•    Keep yourself updated with current affairs: Civil services exams check current affairs knowledge in-depth. They also focus on the candidate’s information concerning the society where he/she lives.
•    The candidates must be responsive to what's happening at the international level.

For the preparation for the second paper, the students should have a full grip over the areas mentioned below:
•    In this paper, communication skills are the most important
•    Your logical reasoning capacity will be thoroughly checked
•    Authorities will also be checking your decision-making process and problem-solving methods
•    Students should have a detailed knowledge about basics numeracy and data interruptions
•    A highly professionally command over the English language is necessary
•    Comprehensive managerial skills are required to prove that you are the right fit for the job.
